Apple and Wine Festival - Review

Today we attended the first of the two day Apple and Wine festival being held at the Altamont Fairgrounds. There were dozens of vendors selling food products and crafts as well as over 20 wineries. Entrance fee for the event was $8. For an additional $5 you were able to get a wine glass and try samples from all the wineries. As usual, we bought way too much wine, but it was a good time.

After camping out 15 hours, we were a few of the first people to try Joe's Crab Shack's food during normal business hours. We each tried a steam pot and some drinks as well as a crab nacho appetizer. A full review will come in the future once they have some time to settle down.

Sept. 10th marked the opening of the first Joe's Crab Shack in the capital region. Kent, Josie, and Brian braved the cold, and wet to camp out from 8PM until the opening at 11AM. The first 100 customers received a free bucket of crabs per month for a year.

Hudson Bacon Fest - Review

Today was the 1st Hudson Bacon Festival and I would describe it as a success. I don't think there is more than a handful of people who eat bacon that don't love it. This event is for all of us bacon lovers out there.
Admission to get in was $10, which was a little steep for access to the the dozen vendors and two food trucks, but a small percentage of the proceeds will go to local area food shelters. There was also face painting and a live band playing music.
